Nuclear translocation of transmembrane proteins was reported in high-grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC), a highly aggressive gynecological malignancy. Although the membrane receptor αvβ3 integrin is amply expressed in HGSOC and involved in disease progression, its nuclear localization was never demonstrated. Nuclear αvβ3 was explored in HGSOC cells (OVCAR3, KURAMOCHI, and JHOS4), nuclear localization signal (NLS) modified β3 OVCAR3, Chinese hamster ovaries (CHO-K1) and human embryonic kidney (HEK293) before/after transfections with β3/β1 integrins. We used the ImageStream technology, Western blots (WB), co immunoprecipitations (Co-IP), confocal immunofluorescence (IF) microscopy, flow cytometry for cell counts and cell cycle, wound healing assays and proteomics analyses. Fresh/archived tumor tissues were collected from nine HGSOC patients and normal ovarian and fallopian tube (FT) tissues from eight nononcological patients and assessed for nuclear αvβ3 by WB, confocal IF microscopy and immunohistochemistry (IHC). We identified nuclear αvβ3 in HGSOC cells and tissues, but not in normal ovaries and FTs. The nuclear integrin was Tyr 759 phosphorylated and functionally active. Nuclear αvβ3 enriched OVCAR3 cells demonstrated induced proliferation and oncogenic signaling, intact colony formation ability and inhibited migration. Proteomics analyses revealed a network of nuclear αvβ3-bound proteins, many of which with key cancer-relevant activities. Identification of atypical nuclear localization of the αvβ3 integrin in HGSOC challenges the prevalent conception that the setting in which this receptor exerts its pleiotropic actions is exclusively at the cell membrane. Descriptive-observational study, carried out in a third-level maternal and child center. Emergency reports were selected from patients under 18 years of age with a diagnosis of discharge "Ingesta CE" (code 938 CIM-9-MC until May 2018; code T18.9XXA CIM-10-MC later) from 1/1/2017 until 12/31/2018. Miscoded and reconsultations within the same episode were excluded. Data was analysed with the statistics program SPSS 25.0.
458 cases were included; median age 3.8 years (p25-75 1.9-6.6 years); 267 (58.3%) males. 78.9% consulted in the first 6 hours after intake. Accidental cause was reported in 98.9% of cases. In 96.7% a single FB was ingested. The most frequent types of object were metallic (46.7%), plastics (16.4%) and food bones/shells (12.9%). The 23.6% of FB involved were sharp/pointed. 49.1% of the patients presented symptoms. A complementary test was performed in 69.4%, especially radiographs (63.5%). Metal detector was used in 10%. 9.6% required endoscopy. 90.4% were discharged from the emergency department, with 12.1% of reconsultations.
Consultations for FB ingestion are relatively frequent in the emergency department and, although most of them are discharged, many patients require complementary tests and a non-negligible number, endoscopy. The patient's profile is that of a preschooler who spontaneously goes to the emergency room due to an accidental ingestion of a blunt metallic object.

The patient's profile is that of a preschooler who spontaneously goes to the emergency room due to an accidental ingestion of a blunt metallic object.BACKGROUND Traumatic injury of the thoracic aorta is proving to be not only the most lethal of traumatic injuries, but also the most urgent reason for vascular intervention among all trauma patients. Endovascular aortic repair is used increasingly often to treat traumatic injuries. We report a case of endovascular treatment and its use as a delayed correction (two-stage treatment) for a traumatic aortic isthmus rupture. CASE REPORT A 20-year-old Asian male was admitted to our department after a car accident presenting symptoms of ischemic shock. Among multiple injuries, a traumatic descending aorta rupture was diagnosed. The patient was referred directly to the operating room for a thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR). The patient's other trauma-related injuries required additional interventions in the following days. Thirty days after the emergent TEVAR operation, the patient required reintervention due to a major type-I endoleak. Computed tomography angiography revealed a failed stentgraft deployment. We removed the mismatched endovascular equipment and deployed an appropriately sized stentgraft during a hybrid procedure, excluding the ruptured aortic wall altogether. CONCLUSIONS Endovascular treatment of both children and small-framed adults remains a challenge for operating teams. First, no dedicated equipment can be found on the market. Second, measuring and fitting endovascular equipment constitutes a sore point in treatment, so in emergency situations, only off-the-shelf tools are accessible. We assert that, in such cases, the primary procedure should be understood as a lifesaving intervention, awaiting a final and long-lasting solution.BACKGROUND Gastric cancer (GC) remains one of the most fatal digestive cancers in the world; nevertheless, its etiology remains vague. With the development of bioinformatics analysis, numerous circular RNAs (circRNAs) have been found to be dysregulated in GC. However, the functions of a large portion of dysregulated circRNAs in GC need further validation. In this study, we aimed to validate the biological functions of circ_0005556, which was previously identified to be dysregulated in GC. The interplay between circ_0005556 and miR-767-5p was validated by dual-luciferase reporter and circRNA immunoprecipitation assays. The effects of circ_0005556 and miR-767-5p on GC cell viability, apoptosis, migration, and invasion were assessed by MTT, flow cytometry, wound-healing and in vitro transwell experiments, respectively. RESULTS The upregulation of circ_0005556 was validated by qRT-PCR in GC tissues and cells, and a higher circ_0005556 level indicated a poorer prognosis.
